Taupō's first Repair Cafe is on Saturday 6 April at the Venture Centre, 250 Spa Road.
As well as free repairs you’ll find expert help and friendly advice on hand from our amazing local volunteers. This is a great opportunity to work together to reduce waste.
Bring along your favourite jacket that’s missing a button, bicycle, broken toy, small appliances, or even small furniture, and our skilled volunteers will have a go at fixing it up for you.
We can’t accept laptops or mobile phones, you can find help for those in town. This is a volunteer event for you and small household things.
If you’re in doubt about your item, register for the event and tell us about it. Registration will get you a preferred time before a volunteer.
Walk-ins are welcome on the day. If you have to wait to be seen, there’ll be a comfy seat and a cup of tea available. Once you’ve registered we’ll email you back to confirm and advise if we have any concerns about your item.
We can’t guarantee a repair until we see it on the day (you may need to purchase or supply parts or batteries), but we’ll do our best.
This community event offers free entry, free repairs, and a darn good time. It’s just one way we can help reduce waste by recycling, fixing broken goods, and saving you money.
