Renting and on the pension: ‘It’s just hard’

Waikato Times shares this article about pensioners renting in NZ. As much as times are tough for people working, it is just as tough, if not more for our elderly community who are renting. Even if they do own their own homes, rates and insurances (or the mortgage if they still have one) swallows up a large portion of their pension. This leaves some elderly people still needing to work, or not be able to meet their basic needs.
